Horizon Boats Second Stage Factory Expansion Brought Forward to Meet Demand

Posted on August 19, 2020

Gold Coast’s own Horizon Boats has moved forward the second stage of a factory expansion plan after receiving an influx of boat orders.

Work has begun on a 4000 sqm addition to the Coomera boat building facility, which was originally due to be upgraded in 2022.

The development is set to boost construction numbers to help satisfy the growing consumer demand for Horizon boats, which have been highly sought after thanks to their quality construction and design by both recreational and commercial customers.

The upgraded site will see a significant increase in the Plate boat manufacturing capacity for Horizon, who claim an enviable tenure in the world of marine vessel construction. Horizon Aluminium Boats having acquired the Stessl brand in 2015, has experienced a rapid growth since its move into the current purpose-built facility 12 months ago and these along with multiple other Australian boating brands will also be manufactured at the Coomera site.

With a comprehensive list of Plate and Pressed pleasure boats models, Horizon has already lured nautical newcomers and veterans alike, but Horizon aims to further grow its customer base, and work with consumers to meet current trends.

Horizon uses state of the art equipment and cutting edge aluminium construction techniques to build pleasure and commercial vessels sold through a nationwide dealership network.

From humble beginnings, the James family has crafted a legacy of their own, transforming a boat building operation from a small shed in Burleigh Heads to one consistently relied upon by the public as well as Local and State Government.

Today it’s full steam ahead for Horizon.

Producing 84 different models and winning countless accolades - including Modern Boating’s 2008 “Family Boat of the Year” - Horizon shows no signs of slowing down.

Constructing 100’s of vessels annually, the need for scalable production is more important than ever before. The new facility is set to address this need while helping foster the continued growth of the Horizon brand.

Customers can continue to enjoy full access to the ever-expanding Horizon range, fully assured that their future pride and joy will be given the same attention to detail and unfaltering workmanship they’ve come to expect. Whether it’s for competitive fishing, a relaxing day out with the family, or commercial purposes, there’s a Horizon boat to suit any budget.

With winter coming to a close and the mercury rising, there has never been a better time to experience first-hand the Horizon difference. For further information on Horizon’s wide range of boats please contact your closest Horizon Dealer or visit our website horizonboats.com.au.
